Three impressive winners from a midweek meeting will chase places in the Queensland Derby when they run in the Grand Prix Stakes at Doomben.

Three trainers will be hoping form from a recent midweek meeting holds up as they chase places for their horses in the Queensland Derby.

The Toby Edmonds-trained Evolo, Chris Munce's Lucky Jackson and Richard Collett's Time Lord were all impressive winners at the Caloundra meeting on May 15.

They will clash in the Group Three Grand Prix (2200m) at Doomben on Saturday which will probably determine whether they make the field for the Queensland Derby on June 9.

The current order of entry released this week has Lucky Jackson, Evolo and Time Lord well down the list.

However, in reality a win or placing on Saturday would see them in the Derby field.

Munce summed the situation when he said Lucky Jackson was a genuine stayer.

"I would love to run him in the Derby because one thing is he will stay all day," Munce said.

Edmonds believes Evolo is a stayer of the future and is also keen to get a Derby run.

"He has only had four runs but keeps improving," Edmonds said.

Collett has booked multiple Group One-winning jockey Damian Browne for Time Lord.

The likely Derby favourite Dark Dream will have his final hit-out for the Group One race in the Grand Prix.
