The Racing NSW Appeal Panel has reserved its decision on Bobby El-Issa's appeal against a four-month suspension.

Bobby El-Issa will have to wait to find out if his appeal against a four-month suspension for his handling of a horse at Goulburn has been successful.

The Racing NSW Appeal Panel on Tuesday reserved its decision on the jockey's appeal over his ride on Soul Testa on March 17.

El-Issa appealed both the conviction and penalty and can continue to ride on a stay of proceedings.

Stewards cited several occasions when El-Issa could have taken different options to allow Soul Testa to find a better position in the race in which he finished sixth.
