A report into the possible merger of Sydney's two race clubs will be released on Tuesday.

Ernst & Young was commissioned by Racing NSW and Racing Minister Kevin Greene earlier this year to analyse the feasibility of merging the Australian Jockey Club (AJC) and the Sydney Turf Club (STC).

A similar analysis of a merger between the Gosford and Wyong race clubs on the NSW Central Coast was also undertaken.

The AJC has undergone major changes in the past few months with the resignation of chief executive Norman Gillespie and senior executive Richard Freedman.

The cash-strapped STC recently announced cost cutting measures including putting staff on 19-day months and the possibility of reducing Saturday prizemoney in the new season.
