Danny O'Brien is being tempted to have a crack at next month's Golden Slipper with Blue Diamond Stakes winner Star Witness.

O'Brien has kept the colt in training at his coastal property at Barwon Heads near Geelong and says he has watched with interest how well the Blue Diamond form has been holding up.

At Flemington on Saturday, Blue Diamond runner-up Shaaheq won the Group Three Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes while Willow Creek followed his fourth with a short neck second to Star Witness' stablemate Shamrocker in the Group Two Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m).

Last week Crystal Lily, who finished sixth in the Blue Diamond, blitzed her opposition with an easy 4-3/4-length win leading all the way in the Listed Chairman's Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield.

"I haven't decided what we will do yet," O'Brien said of Star Witness.

"More than likely he will go to the paddock but the way the Blue Diamond form is stacking up you never know.

"I have kept him in work because it was just going to be too long for him to be in the paddock before the spring but he is going to 13th Beach every second day and is having a good time."

Star Witness is not nominated for the Golden Slipper on April 3 but connections can pay a $150,000 late entry fee to run.

Sydney filly Solar Charged reassumed her position at the top of TAB Sportsbet's Golden Slipper market at $4.60 following her scintillating win in Saturday's Kindergarten Stakes at Warwick Farm.

Silver Slipper winner Chance Bye remains steady at $6 ahead of Blue Diamond third placegetter Beneteau ($7) and Magic Millions winner Military Rose ($10).

Chance Bye will not run again before the Slipper while Solar Charged and Military Rose will clash in the Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on March 20.
