Jockey Hugh Bowman has not heard from Samantha Miss' trainer Kris Lees this week and that's the way he likes it.
The star filly will become the first horse since Angst in 1993 to win all four legs of the Princess Series if she is successful in the Group One Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday.
Samantha Miss has dominated the first three races of the series, the Silver Shadow (1200m), the Furious (1400m) and the Tea Rose (1500m).
"I haven't spoken to Kris all week and that's the way we usually are with Samantha Miss leading up to a race," Bowman said.
"He only rings if there is something wrong, so I hope the next time I speak to him is at the races.
"Kris does his job with Samantha Miss and then I do mine and I'm really looking forward to going to work on the weekend.
"I don't go through the history books much but she's certainly been the dominant filly to date and she deserves her place alongside Angst and I think she'll do it."
The Redoute's Choice filly, who cost $1.5 million as a yearling, has drawn barrier nine of 10 in the Flight but that doesn't bother Bowman.
"She drew the same gate in the Furious and won and she drew the second widest in the Tea Rose and won," Bowman said.
"The bottom line is that she has been too good for them and provided I get her to relax, she'll win and there's no worries she'll relax.
"I thought she faced her biggest challenge last start with Stripper coming from a different formline but she overcame her with ease."
The David Payne-trained Stripper ran a short-head second to Duporth in the $1 million Golden Rose in August but was found to have a cough after her fifth to Samantha Miss in the Tea Rose.
Payne had the horse treated and she will take her place in the Flight.
TAB Sportsbet has Samantha Miss as its $1.50 favourite ahead of Stripper and Portillo at $7 for the Flight.
"Obviously you haven't won until you're over the line but I'm as confident as you can be that she'll win again," Bowman said.
