Miss Maren landed her best win yet in the Group Three Easter Cup at Caulfield, earning a possible start in the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick.

The Mick Price-trained four-year-old, brilliantly ridden by Glen Boss, made it four straight wins in Saturday's 2000m feature.

"She's a pleasure to ride," Boss said.

Boss let the Stravinsky mare, who started at $5, settle midfield in the 10-horse field and made sure that one of his main dangers, Raffaello ($4.60), was boxed in behind horses on his inside before making his winning run.

Miss Maren went on to score a comfortable 1-1/4 length victory over Raffaello with topweight Light Vision ($3.70 fav) a short half-head away third.

Boss had ridden Miss Maren just once before when she finished fifth to Dolphin Jo in the Group Two Winning Edge Presentations Stakes (2400m) on her home track at Caulfield last spring.

On Saturday he took over from apprentice Brenton Avdulla.

"I thought she went better today than in her previous three wins," Boss said.

Stable representative Mick Nolan, who was also in charge when the Price stable won the Listed Anniversary Vase (1400m) at Caulfield the previous week with El Mandon, was delighted with the mare who was having her fifth run this preparation.

After racing her way out of restricted grade with an 1800m win at Sandown second-up in February, the mare won the Listed Centaurea Stakes (2005m) at Morphettville and strolled in over 2000m in a mares event at Caulfield two weeks ago.

"She's come though the race probably better than we thought she would," Nolan said, adding that the mare was on her way to Sydney and then Brisbane.

Price, who was at Randwick in Sydney, said he had been toying with the idea of running Miss Maren in the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 25.

She is also currently quoted at $17 with TAB Sportsbet for the Group One Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick on Anzac Day.

Trainer Robert Smerdon will spell Light Vision for the spring, as Mark Kavanagh will do with Raffaello.

Renewable found the drop back from successive 2500m wins to 2000m unsuitable and finished sixth.

The Zabeel seven-year-old is on his way to Sydney for the Sydney Cup and is quoted at $12.
