Glyn Schofield says Flying Minstrel has all the attributes needed of a high class racehorse as the colt prepares to put his unbeaten record on the line at Wyong on Sunday.

"He's a very smart horse," Schofield said.

"I really feel he could be anything, this horse. He's got size, he's got strength, he's got the attitude - as far as looking at him you can't fault him.

"He's unbeaten and hopefully it stays that way after tomorrow."

Schofield will partner the Trevor Bailey-trained Queenslander in the $100,000 Magic Millions 3YO Stakes (1200m) in his first race ride on the son of Jet Spur.

The top Sydney hoop travelled to Brisbane on November 23 to put Flying Minstrel through his paces in a 1060m Doomben barrier trial which he won by six lengths.

Flying Minstrel started his career with a 3-1/2 length Sunshine Coast maiden win in July.

He backed that up with a 4-3/4 length thumping of his rivals in a 1200m 2YO Handicap on the final day of last season at Doomben before being spelled.

"Hopefully he can produce his best tomorrow, and I know Trevor has a very high regard for the horse," Schofield said.

"Obviously he's got to take this step before he can go to the next one but he does give you a lot of confidence."

Flying Minstrel is the $3.40 favourite for Sunday's race ahead of Pago Pago Stakes winner Brightexpectations ($4.80) who is out to claim the Wyong Magic Millions double after winning the two-year-old feature at the track last year.

The $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic (1000m) will pit unbeaten fillies Defiant Dame and Karuta Queen against each other.

The David Payne-trained Gimcrack Stakes winner Defiant Dame is the $2.10 favourite ahead of Karuta Queen at $3.60.
