Euphoric Realm will be out to maintain his unbeaten record in Sunday's Betfair Handicap at Sandown.

The four-year-old, by US stallion Proud Citizen, has been well placed by trainer Mick Price and is chasing his fourth straight victory.

Euphoric Realm won a Bendigo 1300m maiden on debut in October, resumed with a win in a Tatura 0-72 Hcp (1400m) on March 21 and then ventured to Morphettville where he won a 1600m restricted event on April 17.

"He is owned by Carl Holt, an Englishman who now lives in Sydney. Carl is involved with Kitchwin Hills Stud (at Scone in the NSW Hunter Valley) and he has an extensive feel for pedigrees," Price said.

"He bought Euphoric Realm's dam (Dehere mare Dialogue) overseas and mated her with the stallion before importing her to Australia in foal and this horse is six months behind (to southern hemisphere time).

"He's 17 hands, has a few conformation issues and he had a bit of a temperament issue, so he ended up getting gelded.

"I think once he gets to 2000 metres and learns to settle properly he'll be a pretty nice horse.

"He has plenty of races to win and this looks a winnable race for him."

Leading apprentice Jason Maskiell will take the mount for the first time on Euphoric Realm in the 1500m event with the gelding ridden by Craig Newitt, Dale Smith and Clare Lindop to date.
