Heavy rain has forced the cancellation of Saturday's Eagle Farm races.

The meeting, which was to feature the Listed Falvelon Handicap (1200m), was called off after the track was declared unsafe following 60 millimetres of rain in the past 24 hours.

Racing Queensland chief steward Wade Birch inspected Eagle Farm and was concerned with several sections of the track.

"There was a particularly bad area from the 1500 metres to the 1200 metres which was unsafe for racing but there was also a number of other areas that were unsafe," Birch said.

More than 90 millimetres of rain has fallen at Eagle Farm since Thursday.
