Marc Conners is pinning his hopes on juvenile More Than Words banking enough prizemoney on Saturday to secure a start in the Inglis Classic later this month.

A daughter of 2005 Golden Slipper winner Stratum, the filly will make her debut at Randwick in the Autumn Carnival Package On Sale Now Hcp (1000m) and with the Inglis Classic just two weeks later, prizemoney will be all-important.

"We're hoping she can pick up some prizemoney and get into the Inglis Classic race in a couple of weeks," Conners said.

"She's an each-way chance on Saturday.

"She's had a couple of trials. She was second at her first trial at Warwick Farm and then we gave her a little break and she came back and trialled at Rosehill and went okay.

"I've got two by Stratum and they're both fillies. They've still got a bit of maturing to do but they're nice fillies."

The $250,000 Inglis Classic (1200m) at Rosehill on January 23 is restricted to horses bought at the sale of the same name last year.

Eight of the 13 runners in Saturday's race are Classic graduates with More Than Words, who sold for $25,000, the cheapest.

The Rick Worthington-trained Third Man, who at $75,000 is the most expensive of the eight, is also being aimed at the Inglis Classic and will be out to continue the recent success of first season sire Snitzel who produced the quinella in the juvenile race at Rosehill last Saturday when One More Grand beat Rock My Heart.

Tim Martin will be represented by Spot The Rock who shares his name with the former smart galloper and 1989 Villiers Stakes winner prepared by Helen Page.

More Than Words will be one of three runners for Marc Conners at Randwick along with Letchworth in the Naturalism Hcp (1600m) and Star Of Crown in the Octagonal Hcp (1200m).

Star Of Crown will continue her comeback from a minor fetlock injury and wasn't disgraced when she resumed last month from a 10-month layoff.

The five-year-old was unplaced behind Altered Boy but was beaten less than 5-1/2 lengths and Conners said she would be better suited back against her own sex.

"She had an injury and this will be her second run back so she's still got improvement in her, she just needs some racing," Conners said.

"It's a better race for her this week than it was first-up.

"She's back against the mares and Kody Nestor is riding her again so she gets in okay with his claim."

Star Of Crown will carry 57kg after Nestor's three-kilo claim.
