Jockey Larry Cassidy will miss the ride on Buffering in the Group One Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm on Saturday week after being suspended for careless riding at Doomben on Wednesday.

Cassidy was suspended for seven meetings, to take effect after Saturday's Queensland Oaks meeting, until June 15 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of causing interference on Kiwi stayer Fives'A Diamond in the B105 Three-year-old Handicap (2220m).

Stewards alleged Cassidy allowed his mount to shift in passing the post the first time causing interference to Big Max, ridden by Jason Taylor.

Big Max struck the heels of another runner and almost fell.

Cassidy admitted the interference was an error of judgment.

"It was an error of judgment on my behalf. I thought I was clear," Cassidy told the stewards' inquiry.
