Another ripper of a tipping strike for PPD Club members on Friday.  Stand-in tipster Martin Dowling gave only one longshot special and it was Albury winner ODIN'S HAMMER $4.90 (backed in from $11.00). Martin also did the 'magic trick' by naming runner-up Lucky Morna 2nd as the danger. The exacta returned $51.00 and the quinella paid $26.70. A Field-For-3rd trifecta for just $26 paid $427! Here's what our members were told:

A ‘last’ placing at Wagga last start doesn’t seem to augur well but I reckon (4) Odin’s Hammer 14/1 is capable of quick improvement in race 6, a BM64 hdcp 1600m at Albury on Friday. The locally-trained 6YO struck trouble right from the outset before finishing 16th/16 in the Murrumbidgee Cup 1800m at Wagga on Apr 14. He was caught wide all the way, got crowded and hampered at the 300m and never had a chance of figuring in the finish. He was 9.2 lengths astern of Devised at the finish. His previous form was okay.  On March 22, he ran 3rd/8 in a BM70 at Albury 1600m, and he’s a good performer at this track with 2 wins and a 3rd from 7 outings, which includes a win and a 3rd over today’s trip. Plenty of dangers, of course, in what is a wide open affair.  I am wary of the Matthew Dale trained (3) Lucky Morna 4/1. Her last start 6th/12 at Wagga 1400m looks pretty solid form for today’s race. The mile suits.
