Trainer Mick Price will look to the autumn carnival with Lankan Rupee, which won his second stakes race during the spring carnival in today’s TMB Printing Kevin Heffernan Stakes at Caulfield. Price said that being gelded had helped Lankan Rupee produce his best, reports Racing Network.

“I thought he was really good on Saturday. He was there to see if he could run a strong 1200 (metres) and he did,” Price said. “It opens a lot of options for him and puts him in the paddock for the autumn.

“He’s a lovely, big strong animal now with perfect front legs on him and plenty of races in front of him.”

Price said he had not looked as far to see whether Lankan Rupee would campaign in Melbourne or whether the rich autumn carnival would lure the horse to Sydney.
