Top jockey Nick Hall hopes to be back for the tail end of the Victorian Festival of Racing carnival after undergoing hip surgery late last month, reports Racing Network.
Hall had surgery on his right hip about two years after having an operation on his left hip. The Caulfield Cup winning jockey heads back to the doctor tomorrow for a check-up, which he hopes will pave the way for him to begin physio.
“The doctor says to expect to be out for between three to four months, but I want to be back before Super Saturday,” Hall said.
“The pain from my hip wasn’t excruciating, but it started to affect my style.”
Hall said the surgery involved scraping the hip bone with a rehab involving two sessions per day of bike riding.
“It rolls the hip out and smooths the bone and then I’ll start off with some really light hip exercise,” he said.
