Tommy Berry will be aboard when Melbourne Cup early favourite The Offer trials at Royal Randwick on Friday morning. Berry is currently enjoying a break following a successful stint in Hong Kong and is preparing to return to race riding in Sydney on Wednesday, July 23.

"I'm booked in for 15 trials, ten for Gai Waterhouse includingThe Offer and Sweet Idea among others," Berry said. "It's been good to have a nice little break, I've had a few things to get sorted, spent time with the family and I've also moved house.

" I'm looking forward to getting back in to it, I've got some nice rides and am looking forward to the spring carnival."

Berry joins the likes of Glyn Schofield and Kerrin McEvoy who are also returning to the Sydney riding ranks.

Schofield returns at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday after spending several months on the sideline with injury while McEvoy is back riding on Wednesday following a short holiday.
