Glen Boss had no luck in today's American Oaks at Hollywood Park...His Kiwi 3YO ride Puttanesca ran last in the Grp 1 classic...Puttanesca was having her final start for Kiwi trainer Wayne Hillis. Boss gave her every chance but she was 'gone' at the 600m peg. The race was taken out by the $3 fav Gozzip Girl. Boosy may stay in America for a while to ride at the upcoming Del Mar meeting.

What went wrong with Puttanesca? The filly raced on lasix for the first time and her devastated connections believe this caused her to have breathing problems. Glen Boss told them about the breathing problems and said he no option buy to ease her down. Trainer Wayne Hillis's son Kurt says: 'Dad said all the invited horses were persuaded to race with lasix and none of them went any good...He thinks maybe that could have something to do with it.'

Hope reigns eternal...Queensland Cup winner Cape Breton has gone for a spell and will be aimed at the Melbourne Cup in the spring.
