Off to see the white clouds...Leading jockey Michael Rodd has accepted the mount on Gold Trail in the $200,000 Railway Stakes at Ellerslie in New Zealand on January 1. Trainers there are already clamoring for his services in other races.

Want to buy in? Mornington trainer Jason Petch has been observing with interest the rise to star staying status in NZ of Passchendaele, easy winner of last Sat's Grp 2 Waikato Times Gold Cup at Te Rapa. Reason is that Petch has the mare's 2yo half-sister by O'Reilly in his care. He says: 'We bought her at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale in June of this year...She broke in very well and has had one preparation. She is a very good mover with plenty of scope. We have allowed her time to mature and she is ready to carry on with.'

Passchendaele 5/2 was the PPD Club'sd NZ one-bet Daily Special tip last Saturday. Our Auckland-based tipster Neil Franklyn hands out a special every Saturday for PPD Club members.
