QUALITY filly Eloping confirmed her trip to the Bollinger Champagne Classic, a Group 2 at Doomben on Saturday, with pleasing gallop today at Sportingbet Park.
Stephen Baster, having his first ride on Eloping since she won the Group 3 Royal Randwick Stakes at Randwick on April 19, could not have been happier with the filly.
Eloping worked with a stablemate on the Hillside track finishing off her gallop with a strong 600 metres, which told Baster the filly had, if anything, improved.
“She’s certainly going well,” Baster said. “I could not fault her, she could not have worked any better.”
Co-trainer Peter Morgan said he would hope to book Eloping, a winner of four of her seven starts, on a plane on Wednesday or Thursday.
Morgan said Eloping, which won a Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield on Australia Day, continued to thrive.
“She just keeps on keeping on,” Morgan said. “She pulled up after work good and she really looks good, too.” (racingnetwork)
