Not so happy...Trainer Tony McEvoy said news that Sea Moon has been scratched from the Melbourne Cup left him feeling "sick"
McEvoy's horse Big Memory, second in Saturday's Lexus Stakes behind Signoff, was No 25 in the order of entry for Melbourne Cup.
McEvoy said the Sea Moon scratching reignited the long-running debate about why there are not emergencies for the Cup.
"It's very disappointing," McEvoy said.
"It's a real shame. I'll feel a bit sick if Signoff wins the Cup."
McEvoy said Big Memory would head to Saturday's Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Flemington, which has a $100,000 attached for horses that were balloted from the Melbourne Cup.
"He's pulled up well and is in really good order," McEvoy said.
