Making headway...Peter Moody is confident of a good run when Headway returns to racing in Saturday's Aurie's Star, but he's ready to apply the blow torch to her early-season form. The champ trainer says: ''If she can't show that she's in the sort of form that will win her a Grp 1 race, we'll pull up stumps with her and get her into the next phase of her career in the breeding barn.'

Melbourne Cup prospect Profound Beauty has notched an easy win in the Grp 3 Ballyroan Stakes (2800m) at Leopardstown in Ireland. The Irish mare, trained by Dermot Weld, faced only 4 rivals and jockey Pat Smullen quickly took her to the front. She drew clear to notch an easy 3 lens win. DW says: 'She'll probably go for the Yorkshire Oaks or the Irish St Leger next. We'll take things one race at a time.'
