Williams told Sky Racing's Andrew Bensley that Sea Moon came through his trip well and that he would likely have one start towards the end of March before concentrating on the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival. Only lightly-raced with five wins from 10 career starts, Sea Moon's career highlight to date was an impressive 3.7 length victory in the Grp 2 Hardwicke Stakes (2400m) at Royal Ascot over a field that included Dunaden, Red Cadeaux, Jakkalberry and Fiorente. Sea Moon then finished fifth at Grp 1 level, beaten just over a length behind Danedream, Nathaniel and St Nicholas Abbey in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2400m) before running 8th behind Solemia and Orfevre on a heavy track in the Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe (2400m).
