The Kiwis are keen on the Derby, too...Chris Munce is booked for Time Keeper. He'll kick off his Derby tilt with a run in the Rough Habit Plate 2020m at Doomben on Saturday. Time Keeper ran 5th in the NZ Derby 2400m at Ellerslie in March and has won three of four starts since then, including the Awapuni Classic 2000m and the Grp 1 Easter Hdcp 1600m on Apr 17.

What's happening with Mark Kavanagh's Brisbane attack? He's holding his team back pending weather reports at the moment. Kav doesn't want to send his team north and have them strike heavy rains. He has War Ends in the Qld Guineas 1600m at Eagle Farm on June 12, and there are good reports on the progress of stable star Whobegotyou. He's set for the Doomben 10,000 and the Stradbroke.

Stradbroke Handicap winner Black Piranha will have his next assignment at Scone on Friday in the $60,000 Scone Quality Handicap (1100m) before attempting to win the Straddie back to back
