Atlantic Jewel, unbeaten in five starts and rated the best 3YO filly in the world at a middle distance, spent extra time spelling over summer after a scintigraphy in December showed ''hot spots'' in her pelvic region. Fortunately, there was no bone damage. Kav says: 'Obviously it's great to have her back in the stable but until she gets back into the system and we can really judge where she is fitness-wise and to see how the injury has reacted, it's impossible to assess where or when she will kick-off.' There's even a chance she may not race in the autumn.
