Irish St Leger winner Voleuse De Coeurs may run in the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick on April 19. Trainer Mike Moroney has told Racing Network Voleuse De Coeurs will run in Saturday’s The BMW and if she happened to win the race, there would be little to no reason to run in the Sydney Cup over 3200-metres. “If she won The BMW there wouldn’t be any point in running in the Sydney Cup,” he said. “After all, the Melbourne Cup is her aim (later this year) and if she was guaranteed a run in the race there wouldn’t be any point in running her over the longer trip,” he added. “We’d be able to freshen her and maybe come back to the 2000-metres of the Queen Elizabeth,” he said. Voleuse De Coeurs galloped impressively over 2000 metres between races at Moonee Valley on Saturday, pleasing both trainer and her rider, Glen Boss. She will now be floated to Sydney on Wednesday.
