Maluckyday ran OK for 4th while the French stayer Tac de Boistron was well back after failing to cope with the fast final 600m. He is already assured a start at Flemington. Corey Brown told stewards that Tac de Boistron felt flat and failed to respond to his riding when the tempo quickened. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained abrasions to both front bumpers.
