French import Sysmo headlines the early nominations for Saturday’s Ballarat Cup.
The Tony McEvoy-trained Sysmo, to be ridden by Craig Williams, heads to the $200,000 listed Ballarat cup on the back of a photo-finish second behind Atacama at Flemington on Emirates Stakes day.
Sysmo won the Sale Cup last year and finished a one-length fifth behind Sonntag in last month’s renewal.
Peter Gelagotis has nominated Hvasstan for Ballarat while Colin Little has stablemates Phantom Brew and Cadel Triomphe entered.
Nominations for the Cup along with the remainder of the program, including the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic, close at noon Monday.
Danny O'Brien plans to run unbeaten colt Prompt Return, winner of the Maribrynong Plate at Flemington, in the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic
