Wow, that was a short comeback...Gai Waterhouse's dream machine Amelia's Dream broke down in her near foreleg during an exhibition gallop at Rosehill on Saturday...and it was the same leg in which she fractured a sesamoid during her Silver Slipper win last year. Gai says the filly has now been retired.

Look out for Albert The Fat in Sydney...The Queenslander is on the way after a ripper of a win at Doomben on Saturday...Trainer Eden Petrie says Brad Pengelly will retain the ride on Albert The Fat when he heads interstate for the Listed Show County Handicap (1200m) at Randwick on August 22 and Group Two Theo Marks Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on September 12. Plans beyond those two races are undecided but may include a Melbourne campaign. Albert The Fat's win took his record to nine wins from 15 starts and the superstitious Petrie has no plans to change his routine interstate.
