Can Star Witness give the Poms a right royal bashing at Ascot? Trainer Danny O'Brien has an Ascot raid in mind for his smart colt. He'll give him three runs in Melbourne, culminating with the Grp 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington in March, and then send him for a short break ahead of a UK mission. O'Brien says:'We've always seen him as a sprinter-miler and this is the ideal opportunity to stretch him out a bit because the Australian Guineas would be a great race to have on his resume.'
