DAMIEN Oliver on Monday took the first step to rebuilding his career. Oliver rode four horses, including Thousand Guineas winner Commanding Jewel, in trackwork at Leon Corstens' complex at Romsey.

"It's great to be back on the horse again, especially a good one like Commanding Jewel," Oliver said.
"I haven't been on her since last spring, but she has really matured and developed. It's nice to be back on her."
Oliver's eight month disqualification for having a $10,000 bet on Miss Octopussy at Moonee Valley on October, 2010 ended at midnight last Friday.
He attended the Vanuatu Cup over the weekend and returned to Melbourne late last night.
Oliver will ride trackwork for the next two months before he can resume race riding on September 13.
The two month suspension was tacked on to his penalty. (www.racingnetwork.com.au)
