DAMIEN Oliver chases a second Perth on rejuvenated veteran Black Tycoon in Wednesday’s Perth Cup, reports Racing Network. Former leading harness trainer-driver Justin Warwick booked Oliver to ride Black Tycoon in the Group 2 race.

Sportsbet.com.au has Black Tycoon a $5.50 equal favorite with Pop Culture in the $500,000 race with Rohan vying for favoritism at $6.

Oliver won his sole Perth Cup back in 2008 with Cats Fun, which this year won the Brierly Steeplechase at Warrnanbool.

Warwick has stunningly transformed the eight-year-old Black Tycoon, which has won seven of his 10 career races during the 2013 calendar year.

Veterans have a good record in the Perth Cup with eight-year-old Respect winning the 2007 renewal and Time Frame winning the 1997 edition.

And, Lotilla Bay, winner of the 2001 Perth Cup, was a 10-year-old.
