Clarry Conners has booked Chris Munce to ride Dear Demi in the Mackinnon Stakes and Melbourne Cup. Dear Demi, who placed a close third behind Fawkner in the Caulfield Cup, will carry 51kg in the Melbourne Cup, a weight Munce has little trouble riding at.

"He is quite an experienced rider and is strong at 51kg, that was a key factor in booking him," Conners said.

"He has been around for long enough and ridden in a lot of these big races, it is great to be able to get someone with as much experience as Chris for the mare."

Conners said Dear Demi has thrived since her run in the Caulfield Cup and the run in the Mackinnon will have her peaking for the Cup.

"I will do a bit with her, not too much, but she has been bucking her brand off so the run will do her good," he said.

James McDonald rode Dear Demi in the Caulfield Cup but is booked to ride Voleuse De Coeurs in the Melbourne Cup.
