The winner of the 2011 Grp 1 Patinack Farm Classic (1200m) at Flemington in November has the chance to earn a first prize cheque of $1.2 million, making it the biggest winner's payout for any sprint race anywhere in the world. The Victoria Racing Club announced the move on Thursday. From 2011 until 2013, the Patinack Farm Classic run down the Flemington Straight Six on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival will be worth $1,000,000, an increase of $250,000 from last year with a guaranteed first prize of $600,000. The VRC will also pay a $600,000 bonus to the winner on the condition they have already won a Global Sprint Challenge (GSC) race, outside Australia, since October 1, 2010.
