Some of the bigger bets on him were $6,000 @ $3.40, $5,000 @ $3.70 and $4,000 @ $3.80. In the opening race, the heavily supported Starchine failed to flatter with punters leaving the money in the bag. Opening at $8.50 it was backed into $2.30 late Friday before drifting to $4.00 earlier today. One punter outlaid $6,000 @ $2.40 but the Mick Price-trained runner ended up near the tail of the field. In Brisbane, the well backed Rundle failed to land the cash with a couple of big bets of $13,000 @ $1.60 and $7,000 @ $1.60 narrowly missing the mark.
