What's golng on? Reports from the UK say there's been an alarming betting drift on So You Think before Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. It led to betting on the great French race being temporarily suspended. Betting agency Paddy Power stopped betting after So You Think's price more than doubled to $9 on betting exchanges, triggering rumors the horse may be reserved for the British Champions Mile at Ascot on October 15. So You Think remains the Arc favourite with TAB Sportsbet at $3.80.

The UK Racing Post reports: So You Think hit a high of 9/1 on Betfair at one point on Monday and Paddy Power temporarily suspended betting on the race quoting "inconsistencies" in the market, but by Tuesday afternoon the Aidan O'Brien-trained 5YO was the solid 5/1 second favorite on the exchanges. Ladbrokes are now 9/2 (from 5/1) about So You Think and spokesman David Williams said: "The recent market jitters for So You Think seem to have been over exaggerated. He's been the hottest Arc horse of the day and is closing in on Sarafina at the head of the betting."

Suspended jockeys Ben Melham and Larry Cassidy should both win their appeals against their 2 and 3 month suspensions for so-called 'bad' rides. The penalties were daft - totally out of proportion to the alleged 'crime'. If jockeys are to be punished like this for errors of judgement then we soon won't have enough riders left to keep meetings going! Jockeys make mistakes in every race on the card, every day.
