Classic Jewellery is building a nice record over the extended mile at Happy Valley and the John Size-trained five-year-old looks the one to beat again in the Hong Kong Club Challenge Cup (1,650m) on Wednesday night, reports Racing Post HK.

Size has been typically patient with Classic Jewellery (Joao Moreira), spacing his runs to keep him fresh and holding his form and the son of O'Reilly has responded with placings in the first two in seven of his 16 starts.

Four times those starts have been over the 1,650m at Happy Valley where the gelding's tactical speed is an asset and Classic Jewellery has won two and finished second in the other two.

At his latest appearance, he overcame barrier 11 to beat in-form Royal Partner in Class Three, and that horse has proved the form since with an excellent third and then an easy win in that grade.

Classic Jewellery makes the step up to Class Two on Wednesday night but gets a sharp weight drop, a better draw and the magic of Joao Moreira to get the very best out of him.
