The Benchmark 73 event for three year-olds at Rosehill on Saturday looked a strong contest on paper with victory going to progressive General Nediym gelding War Charm, whose yearling half-brother will be offered by leading South Australian nursery Mill Park at the 2012 Magic Millions Yearling Sale in Adelaide, reports www.breednet.com.au.

It says: The Danny Williams trained War Charm settled off the pace and charged home to win the 1350 metre event for Peter Robl, taking his overall record to four wins and two placings from 10 starts with prizemoney in excess of $121,000.

"He just keeps improving and improving," said Danny Williams. "He keeps taking the next step and has a great constitution, so for the time being we'll keep him going."

A $280,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Mill Park draft in 2010, War Charm is the third winner from four foals to race from the smart metropolitan winning Unbridled's Song (USA) mare Southern Rose. The current yearling from Southern Rose, a grey colt from the first crop of English Derby winner New Approach (IRE) will be offered as Lot 66 at the Adelaide Magic Millions in March. War Charm has won four times since the catalogue went to print and in his current form will be winning again.
