Unencumbered has stormed into favoritism for the 2YO Magic Millions Classic on the Gold Coast. The betting market took a dramatic twist on Saturday after the flops of long-time favorites Echo Gal and Oakleigh Girl, both unplaced in the McGrath Estate Agents 2YO Stakes at Doomben.
Unencumbered, the Bjorn Baker-trained juvenile, has been installed as the new $4.00 favorite for the Classic. He had been $8.00 befopre today's slick win.
Echo Gal ($4.00 out to $16) and Oakleigh Girl ($4.20 out to $12) have blown right out in the betting.
Unencumbered had opened at $7.50 when TAB first released their market on December 12.
In other Magic Millions news, Chivalry and Invisible who won races earlier in the day at Moonee Valley and Canterbury, saw their prices come in again ($6.50 to $5.50) in the wake of the big drift of Echo Gal and Oakleigh Girl.
