The Werribee, Warrnambool and Benalla racetracks will take an extra meeting over the summer period following Racing Victoria's decision to further rest the newly-renovated Ballarat and Wangaratta tracks.

The Ballarat meetings on January 5 and January 15 will now be run at Werribee and Warrnambool respectively, while the Wangaratta meeting programmed for January 9 has been moved to Benalla.

The Wangaratta trials on January 10 have also been shifted to Benalla.

The Ballarat track, which has suffered an indifferent year, will now return to racing on January 25 while Wangaratta, which is undergoing track renovations following Saturday's six-race twilight fixture, will now return to racing on their Cup day on March 5.

As a result of the January transfers, there are also several amendments to the autumn racing program in March and April.

The race meeting programmed at Warrnambool on March 7 will now be hosted by Ballarat, and the Benalla meeting on April 6 has been moved to Wangaratta.

Distance changes to several meetings as a result of the transfers are detailed here.
