Talented Lindsay Park gallopers Spillway and Fast ‘N’ Rocking indicated they could be in for a big preparation after impressing in a jumpout at Flemington on Friday, reports Racing Victoria (www.racing.com).

Fast ‘N’ Rocking led throughout to win the 800m trial - which also included classy mareSolicit - while Spillway settled out wide at the tail of the field before hitting the line strongly to finish just behind his stable mate.

Thrilled by the performance of both horses, co-trainer David Hayes said Spillway was on track to resume in the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 14 en route to the $1 million Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington in March.

“I thought Spillway’s trial was as good as before the Spring,” Hayes said.

“I think he’s improved since last year where we were trying to qualify him for a Caulfield Cup (2400m).

“This year we’ll just give him a nice easy build-up and hopefully have a reasonably fresh horse to head to Sydney for The Championships with.”

Hayes said Fast ‘N’ Rocking, who was last seen scoring a narrow win in the Group 3 Kevin Heffernan Stakes (1300m) at Sportingbet Park in November, would also resume in the Group 2 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) on February 14.
