TAB punters are confident Press Statement is the one to beat in the Caulfield Guineas, with the favourite firming from $2.50 into $2.30 on the back of a $10,000 bet.

The colt has clearly been the best backed in the Group 1 with $13 chance Bassett the next best supported. 

“Punters are rallying to the class act Press Statement but outside of him it looks anyone’s race,” said TAB’s Nick Quinn.

 

In other Group 1 betting news:
Thousand Guineas – Punters are looking away from favourite Stay With Me ($4.20), with Pasadena Girl ($4.40) the best backed. Payroll has firmed from $21 to $18 while there has been plenty of support for Alaskan Rose at $21.

Caulfield Stakes – Kermadec has been the best supported and remains favourite despite drifting from $2.70 to $2.90. Mongolian Khan has also been popular and is in from $9.00 to $8.50.

 

Toorak Handicap – They may be equal $5.50 favourites but punters have given Lucky Hussler the nod ahead of Disposition and is the best backed. 

Spring Champion Stakes – Vanbrugh has been a firmer in from $2.80 to $1.80, but punters are rallying for Too Good To Refuse, in from $8.00 to $6.00. Gold Ambition has also had support at $15.
