Race experience and increased fitness combined with a great ride from Hugh Bowman saw Soapbox travelling sweetly on the pace throughout before forging clear to win the 1000 metre dash by the best part of a length.
Soapbox is bred to be well above average being from the smart Snippets stakes-winner Actress, who won the Listed AJC Reginald Allen Quality and was fourth in the Group I AJC Flight Stakes.
"She's very promising and has brilliant gate speed which is a great asset, although she's better if you can ride her just off the pace which she showed last start and again today," said stable representative Edward Cummings.
"She's got to prove she can run a trip now and if she can there are races like the Flight Stakes and Thousand Guineas, but we'll take her quietly for now."
