Singapore International Cup winner Dan Excel could be heading to Melbourne for the Group 1 $3 million Sportingbet Cox Plate. Sunday night's runaway winner with Tommy Berry on-board is owned by David Boeham – an Australia – and he has told Racing Victoria’s Leigh Jordan he now wants to win the Cox Plate.

Jordan says he will do everything he can to lure Dan Excel to Melbourne for the Cox Plate.

“Being an Australian, David (Philip Boehm) is very interested in bringing the horse to Australia for a race like the Cox Plate,” Jordon said.

Dan Excel has been a consistent performer in feature weight for age races in Hong Kong and his win last night suggests he’d be extremely competitive in the Cox Plate,” Jordan says on racingvictoria.net.au tonight.

“I’ll continue discussions with David, John (Moore) and the Moonee Valley Racing Club because I’d love to see the horse in Melbourne during the spring.”

Jordon said star sprinter Lucky Nine would again be issued an invitation to contest the Group 1 VRC Sprint Classic (1200m) at Flemington in November after his win in last night’s Group 1 KrisFlyer International Sprint (1200m).
