Ready For Victory will race on this preparation after the colt’s impressive effort in Saturday’s $3.5 million Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m).

Despite the horse running off the track towards the outside rail in the home straight, he still managed to finish in fourth position less than two lengths away from the winnerVancouver.

Trainer Mick Price said he would look at experimenting with the horse’s gear at his next start in the Group 1 ATC Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick in two weeks.

“The horse has pulled up well physically, he ate just about everything overnight and he’s a two-year-old that’s coping very well,” Price said.

“I might put a ring bit on him (in the Sires), which may allow him to be a bit more responsive if he does shy, and maybe blinkers.
