Peter Moody is content with running Wish Come True in Thursday's Newcastle Cup despite the imported stayer copping the extreme outside barrier.

Wish Come True was also nominated for the Hill Stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday but Moody feels the 2300m of the Newcastle Cup is a better progression to the Group 1 Metropolitan Handicap.

"Newcastle just fits in to the program perfectly for where we want to go, which is the Metrop," Moody said.

"It is a little more than the two weeks, racing on Thursday gives us an extra two days, which is ideal.

"Barrier 15 isn't the best but we just have to deal with what we have been given."

Wish Come True caught the eye first-up from a break with a strong finishing fourth behind GreatwoodBonfire andHe's Your Man in the Premier's Cup (1800m) at Rosehill Gardens.

The form has been proven as a good guide with He's Your Man since winning the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill.

Wish Come True is as short as $5 in betting for the Newcastle Cup and is rated a $21 chance with Sportsbet.com.au for the Metropolitan Handicap at Royal Randwick on October 4.

Chris Waller has three runners in the Newcastle Cup including Wyong Cup winner Multilateral, as well as Secessioand Brigantin.
