Owner Lloyd Williams has decided against running Fawkner in Saturday's Zipping Classic at Sportingbet Park.

Fawkner was nominated for the Group 2 feature but will now go to the paddock and be readied for an autumn campaign that could potentially include the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Randwick.

"He worked yesterday (Tuesday) and he is a tired horse so we have decided to send him out to the paddock and bring back in the autumn," Williams said.

"I haven't got a plan in mind but Sydney for the Queen Elizabeth could be on the radar."

Williams, who has won the Zipping Classic six times in the last 11 years, will still be represented by Green Moonand Sea Moon in the $350,000 feature.

A field of nine has accepted for the Zipping Classic with Au Revoir backing up after finishing eighth in the Melbourne Cup.
