Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux will not be running in this year’s Caulfield Cup as previously touted by UK trainer Ed Dunlop, reports Racing Network.

In 2011 the UK stayer was beaten the narrowest margin by Dunaden in Melbourne Cup history, and he has gone on since around the world proving to be one of the best stayers on the planet.

Three weeks ago Dunlop expressed an interest in running in this year’s Caulfield Cup as well as the Melbourne Cup, but that will not happen now.

Dunlop has accepted with Red Cadeaux to run in the Irish St Leger this Sunday, thus he will not be in quarantine in time to catch the first plane into Australia.
