MELBOURNE Cup favourite Fame Game has firmed from $4.00 into $3.80 and is now the shortest price favourite to win The Race That Stops The Nation since So You Think ($3.00) in 2010.
Over 25% of all money bet has gone on the favourite, with Caulfield Cup winner Mongolian Khan ($9.00) also receiving punter support.
“It appears punters are happy to take any odds available on Fame Game, surely now he is at a rock bottom quote but it’s no surprise after his run in the Caulfield Cup to understand why he has easily been the best backed runner,” said TAB’s Nick Quinn.

Victoria Derby – Tarzino has firmed from $3.20 into $2.20 since the weekend and has been the best backed runner ahead of Kia Ora Koutou who is next in the market at $8.50.
Coolmore Stakes – Exosphere is the only one punters want to back despite the short price of $1.40. Very little interest in any other runner.
Mackinnon Stakes – Magic Hurricane may be the $6.00 favourite, but its Flamingo Star who punters have warmed to, the best backed runner after firming in from $15 to $8.00.
Myer Classic – Stay With Me has been one of the best backed for the weekend, with 75% of all money on the $3.80 favourite.
