It's Cystic Fibrosis Summer Race Day at Caulfield on Saturday and local trainer Peter Moody looks set for a big day with a classy list of 12 nominations.

After a relatively quiet Spring Racing Carnival by his own lofty standards, Moody bounced back in style over the weekend with four winners including the smart mare Kulgrinda who took out the $100,000 City Jeep Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

Headlining the Moody charge this weekend is 2010 Sandown Cup (3200m) winner Macedonian who is nominated to resume in a $100,000 handicap over 2000 metres.

The highest rated runner among the list of 12 nominations in the race, Macedonian has only had two starts since finishing second to Sydney Cup winner Niwot in the Group 3 Lexus Stakes (2500m) over twelve months ago.

In Saturday's other $100,000 feature, a 1400m handicap, Moody has nominated three runners headed by Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes (2040m) winning four-year-old Highly Recommended.

Among a strong list of 25 nominations, Moody has also nominated Shout Out Loud and White Universe who could potentially line up against Tony Vasil's Under The Eiffel, the Ken Fythe-trained Rockpecker or Robbie Griffiths' summer specialist Danzylum.

If sheer weight of numbers is anything to go by, Moody could prove hard to beat in the 1400m Super VOBIS Benchmark 78 3YO handicap where he has nominated five runners among the list of 15.

As well as last start winners Heart Reef, King Krovanh and Medvedev, he has also entered the smart pair of Kukla and Lampedusa who would both drop back in grade from stakes class should they line up.

Another high quality race on Saturday's Caulfield program is the $80,000 1100m handicap for the sprinters which features a quality list of 25 nominations including last year's winner the Stephen Brown-trained Canali.

Canali's stable mate Winter King who was a late scratching at Moonee Valley on Saturday is also on the list that includes Group 3 winning South Australian sprinter Outlandish Lad, Oaks Day victor General Truce, Mick Price's Stratcombe and the Wayne Nichols-trained Diplomatic Force.
