International raider Admire Rakti is the one to beat in Tuesday’s Emirates Melbourne Cup according to TAB.com.au’s Fixed Odds market.
The Japanese stayer has been favourite for the Cup since its outstanding victory in the Caulfield Cup a fortnight ago.
Admire Rakti will begin the race from barrier 8 and is a $4.60 favourite at TAB.com.au
The biggest mover in Cup betting has been Signoff.
As much as $51 earlier this week and $17 on Saturday morning, the Darren Weir-trained galloper took out the Lexus at Flemington in fine style and has charged into contention.
TAB immediately slashed his price to $6.50 shortly after the win but it drifted out to $7 after he drew barrier 16.
Other movers of note after the barrier draw include:
- Lucia Valentina $7 into $6.50 after drawing barrier 2
- Fawkner $9.50 into $9 (barrier 9)
- Cavalryman $26 into $21 (barrier 3)
One TAB customer was keen on the chances of Protectionist after it drew barrier 11, outlaying $9,000 @ $7.50.
Meanwhile, there are a number of Fixed Odds Doubles and Trebles riding on Admire Rakti’s hopes in Tuesday’s Cup.
One TAB customer outlaid just $50 @ $1022 on a three-leg Multi that included Admire Rakti to win the Caulfield Cup and Adelaide to win the Cox Plate.
Should Admire Rakti win on Tuesday their investment will yield them a whopping $51,122!
An impressive Double is waiting to be collected by another TAB punter after they splashed out $220 @ $187 on Admire Rakti completing the Caulfield – Melbourne Cup double.
They stand to win just over $41,000.
