Fifteen runners will face the starter in Sunday's $400,000 Clamms Seafood Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, which headlines an eight-race card at Caulfield.

Last year's Mackinnon Stakes winner Glass Harmonium (58kg) heads the field for what is Victoria's only Group 1 handicap over 1400 metres.

The Mike Moroney-trained import will carry a weight that has only been lumped to victory once in the past 20 years, when Testa Rossa carried 58.5kg to victory in 2000, when he strives to become a rare first-up winner of the event.

The son of Verglas will start from barrier one with Damien Oliver, a six-time winner of the race, to take the ride.

Glass Harmonium is one of a number of key players to draw single-figure barriers with Queensland visitor Solzhenitsyn (two), Centennial Park (five), That's The One (seven) and We're Gonna Rock (nine) among the others to draw well.

Peter Moody's talented four-year-old Moment Of Change drew a seemingly atrociously in the outside barrier, but half of the past 16 winners have started from double-digit gates including three from barrier 15.

Lawrence Stakes winner Second Effort (14), the untapped Shanghai Warrior (11) and last-start Group 2 Warwick Stakes winner Pinwheel (10) are others that have wide draws to contend with.

The Clamms Seafood Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes is the feature event of the day, to be run as Race 6 at 3.50pm.

The support card also features the all-important $175,000 Group 3 BECK Caulfield Guineas Prelude, which has attracted a field of nine, headed by Peter Snowden-trained Golden Rose winner Epaulette.

The half-brother to last year's Guineas champion Helmet has drawn barrier two in the event that will see him go up against fellow Sydney colt Ashokan and classy locals Shamexpress and Awesome Bro.

Sunday's meeting might also have a big impact on Caulfield's other Group 1 Guineas, the $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas, with favourite Love For Ransom to run in the $80,000 TMB Printing Handicap (1400m) for fillies.

The other key event on the Caulfield card is the $120,000 Listed Spicer Thoroughbreds Testa Rossa Stakes (1200m), which has attracted a bumper field of 16 plus three emergencies.

Sydney raider Ahdashim (barrier eight) heads the field, which also contains the classy Moody mare Curtana (16), Stratcombe (three), Sea Lord (seven), Amah Rock (nine) and Miss Marx (17), who finished second to More Joyous at her most recent outing.
